Bay - 6 month pics

Bay turned 6 months on April 8.  I am a few weeks behind in taking these pictures, but I am so happy with how they turned out! All photo credit goes to my amazing sister n law Victoria who does such a good job taking pictures and getting her to smile! Also, we got a few pictures of Owen for fun!

Bay's Birth Story

Bay's Birth Story

Being a week overdue with Owen, I just had a feeling I would be late with my second baby too.  I always had hopes of going a couple days early but the days past and that never happened.  My due date, October 8th rolled around.

8 AM - Get up for the day

Happy 2nd Birthday, Owen! We were planning on celebrating Owen's birthday that evening, and so my mind was really focused on baking a cake for him! For a couple weeks I had been having Braxton Hicks, but nothing out of the ordinary.  I had a Dr. appointment the week prior and I was only dilated 1-2 cm.  That didn't mean a whole lot to me, because it can all happen so fast!  Even tho it was my due date, having a baby wasn't on my mind at this point because I felt nothing, and was really just focused on Owen's Birthday.  And seriously, who even goes into labor on their due date anyways?  I heard just 4% of moms. Let alone the brother's birthday.

9 AM - Starting to get a few Braxton Hicks.  I thought, "Could this be the start of something?" I shrugged it off.   I didn't want to get too excited and nervous for no reason. These contraction/braxton hicks were getting stronger.  It is so hard to know what is real or not.  So I text Paul who was in Fort Wayne at work at this time. Below my texting is in green and Paul's is gray.  (I apologize in advance for our over excited/ slightly embarrassing texting conversation) lol  *The time on the screenshot text picture isn't accurate to the time of the actual text.

I love how organized Paul is and keeping track of the time for me!

My poor husband!

At this point I was about to panic! Running around the house trying to get everything, even tho I was mostly already packed up.  So I finally grab my bags, and drag Owen out of bed.  I get to my mom's at approximately 10:15.  My sister and mom are doing a painting project. They drop what they are doing.  At this point my contractions were getting stronger and stronger.  I knew it was for real.  My mom keeps Owen, while Kara drives me to Fort Wayne where we meet Paul. (Thanks, Kara! but maybe next time don't hit so many bumps on the road! jk :) Then off Paul and I go to Dupont Hospital in a hurry.  We were so glad to get there!

11:30 AM - Arrive at Dupont and they are so busy!!

Noon - The nurse checks me and I am dilated at 8.5 cm. :0 I told them I really want an epidural!

12:35 PM - I was relieved when they said it wasn't too late for an epidural. Pfew!  The anesthesiologist told me to just not have the baby in the middle of them giving it to me. He laughed!  I didn't.  I am still glad I got it, even tho I am not sure it had a lot of time to kick in before she was born.

1:05 PM - Started pushing

1:17 PM -  Bay Adelyn is born.  Praise Jesus for a healthy baby girl! 8 lbs. 1 oz. 21"

Thanks to my AMAZING husband for putting up with me, and being a wonderful, helpful, encouraging coach!  I couldn't of done it without him by my side!

camera shy

{6 mo. old pics}

one of my favorites:)

a little camera shy

i'd say he is full and content for the time being;)

#blueeyes

just 6 months old. no big deal.

unsure of this new basket experience!!!

All done, I promise!

I learned a few things during this session:
  1. I will never ever be a photographer
  2. So thankful for digital cameras. How did we do it back in the day without seeing our pictures before getting them developed!?
  3. I'm glad there is not a sound pickup on cameras to hear all the noises made to make smiles happen:)

food for thought

 We gave Owen a bath, got his jammies on and all tucked  into bed! Down for the night?  My hopes are up! Paul and I just read an amazing verse in the Bible. For my yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matt. 11:30 Sometimes I need to remember to not hold onto my own thoughts and burdens!  Give them to God and He will give you rest. So comforting we can have those thoughts as we drift into a night of sleep!
Oh boy, I see a baby monitor that that has red flashing lights! Looks like someone else would like some cookies too! But for now we will leave rice cereal, green beans, milk, and umm Vitamin C, in his diet.  Oh and you might be wondering about the Vit. C? Coming from a 4 y/o cousin, "I thought he looked hungry so I'll just shove a big old orange flavored vitamin C into his mouth!" I'm sure he loved it. Until an adult came to the rescue!

Good night all. and you should read a Bible verse and think about it while you fall asleep. It can be so peaceful!

February Fun

my squeezable guy will be 5 months in a few days!

If you are looking for an idea to do with a friend, kids, or something to do on a date night... I have the right spot for you!

Try out "Bisque It" in Fort Wayne.

Choose a pottery of your choice. From plates, cookie jars, mugs, outlet covers, flower vases, etc. About anything you can think of!

You don't have to be an artist to enjoy this! {I would know}
But it might turn out the best if you are an artist! {I wouldn't know}

Put your creative mind on and start painting away!   Relaxing, laid back atmosphere!

My mom's pretty plate. After this they fire it up and you can pick them up in a week or so!

Congrats Todd & Nicole!

Here Kitty Kitty

We are looking for a new owner for our sweet, loving, laid back cat Zapper. We have had her for about 2 years and we have really loved her, but since we have a baby it's time for a new home for her! She is declawed in the front, spayed, and is about 8 years old.  If you or anyone you know is interested let me know.

the perfect spot

Owen is a little over three months old.  He keeps getting funner each day with all the energy he has! He is cooing, smiling, and making eye contact more and more!

Sometimes it can be hard to find a spot where he is content for a long period of time. So I switch things up occasionally to find the perfect spot! He LOVED this green chair for about a day...or maybe more like 2 minutes!

Next we tried the bouncy vibrator!

Until he decided to wiggle himself out. I guess that is why they have buckles!

I think he was trying to tell me the floor will be just fine!

 It's true! A lot of his smiley pictures are on the floor! Crazy!

But I had to try out his high chair for the first time! To read Owen's facial expression, "It's okay mom, but not that great!"

But out of everything we tried...this has to be the best!!! We found the perfect spot! <3
